Huckleberry Picking in Northern Idaho | Idaho Photographer

I think we should take a minute to talk about the beauty of the mountains...

the fresh air in your lungs,

the huge trees towering above you,

 the stillness enveloping you,

the simple calm all around,

the breathtaking view in every direction,

not to mention the yummy wild huckleberries growing all around your feet...

I have taken a little vacation to visit family in northern Idaho; two days in and I am already in love with the countryside, gardening, animals...

The mountain tops are covered with little black yummy huckleberries.  We picked a gallon, drove down the mountain, and promptly made huckleberry cupcakes.  Oh boy, were they good.
