True to Your Skin

While traveling overseas my bed at night ended up being on various bunk beds, rooftops, floors, or porches all over the world. I have slept in copious amounts of dirt. Bucket showers were the norm and as wonderful as they are, they do not leave you feeling as clean as the standard American shower does! I won’t lie, there were many-many times I felt utterly unattractive and really down on myself because of it. My face broke out terribly every month and I still have scars to prove it. Travel is glorious on one hand and a health hazard on the other. I came home from eleven months of traveling weary and physically unhealthy. My mom has told me several times how rough I looked, and my sister put me on a bunch of minerals and supplements to heal my body. After two years my skin looks healthier, but some damage remains.

I have scarring from the breakouts and wrinkles from the sun, and I don’t love it. I’ve heard my own insecurities reflected in the emails and messages from my clients as they request a little more work be done to their photos. I get it, and I can wipe away the imperfections from images with no problem, no judgement and no questions asked, but that is really only a quick fix. It does nothing for a person’s actual face. In fact, sometimes it can make me a little more insecure. Don’t get me wrong! I love photoshop and think it is an amazing gift, but I would love something that lasts! At the age 24 I am finally taking my skin seriously… I am sure some of you think I am late in doing this and some of you think I’m a little ridiculous for even worrying about such things at my age, but ya’ll it affects the way I present myself and I want to age gracefully.

So I have made the decision to change. I want to work towards healthy skin and body which is why I am choosing Neora. After doing a little research I have found that this company pairs age fighting compounds with holistic ingredients to actually work on healing your skin and feeding your body. It’s a step towards health and I could not be more happy about it.
