Dangerous Words

“I want my senior pictures to be a dream come true for you. If there is a shoot you’ve been planning in your head, and have been waiting for an opportunity, I’m your girl.” These are the dangerous words Brennah said to me while chatting about her senior portraits a few weeks ago. DANGEROUS WORDS… words I am ALWAYS over the moon to hear! I could see the excitement and passion in her eyes as we planned out the location and the dresses. I knew this one would be one I print out for me and hang on my wall to remind myself how lucky I am to be a photographer!

It was 3:00 a.m. when my little sister Julianna and I crawled out of bed, slung our backpacks and camera bag into the backseat of my VW Jetta and headed for the mountains. It is absolutely ridiculous to get up that early, drive a few hours, hike a mile or two, and sit on a on big rock to watch the sun rise over your birthday... But what can I say... That's all I wanted. I wanted to see the way God painted the sky on that morning... on that trail... on that mountain. I am twenty-three years old as of yesterday.
