Her Story Matters

Valentine's Day this year looked different for me than it ever has in the past!  I spent the evening walking through the red light district in Patong Phuket with two of my friends giving roses to women.  The looks from the intoxicated sunburned tourists were a bit awkward and the street vendors kept trying to invite me underground to the "Ping Pong Show" but it was worth it to see the gorgeous smiles brought to the tired faces of these woman!  The simple act of giving a flower... the quiet wordless truth of unfathomable worth... It was incredible to see the change in the demeanor of each woman as they saw that someone wanted to give something while asking nothing in return!   

Life may have taught her to think the price of a drink or the night is the price set on her soul, but that is not the truth.

She is so much more.  She is priceless.   

Tomorrow afternoon my friends and I begin the journey home having spent two weeks in the beautiful country of Thailand.  It has been an absolutely amazing time making new friends while sipping soda water in the bars on Bangla Street!  Spending most of our time in the same places it was wonderful to hear the stories of those around us.  Hearing the struggles and joys of working in the red light district is something I will not soon forget!  

I will miss these lovely people!
